Instructions
- 1.Get into the pushup position with your back straight. Move your hands together forming a ‘diamond’ shape with your index fingers and thumbs directly below your face. This is your starting position.
- 2.Slowly lower your body toward the ‘diamond’ while keeping your back straight.
- 3.Go down as far as you can, pause, the slowly return to the starting position.
- 4.Repeat for as many repetitions as required.
Tips
- Variation: you can do this exercise on your knees if the standard way is too difficult.
- If you want to keep more tension through the triceps and chest, stop each repetition just short of lockout at the top.
- Perform the reps slowly and in a controlled manner.
Breathing Instructions
Breathe in during the eccentric (lowering) portion of the exercise and breathe out during the cocentric (elevation) portion.
