Meet Spot

Spot, the AI personal trainer that knows your training

Ask in your own words. Spot answers from your logged workouts and food, and changes your plan for you. Included with GymStreak Premium.

Updated 19 October 2026

Short answer

Spot is an AI personal trainer built into the GymStreak app. Unlike a general chatbot, it sees your logged workouts, your plan and your food. It builds workouts for your equipment and time, edits your plan, suggests your next weights, flags plateaus and logs meals from a photo. Spot comes with GymStreak Premium.

What Spot does

Ask it anything about your training

  • Builds a workout for you

Tell it the time you have, the equipment you have and what you want to train, and it creates the workout in your plan.

“45 minutes, dumbbells only, upper body”

  • Changes your plan

Swap an exercise, add or remove sets, change reps or rest, rename a workout, or find another day for a session you missed.

“Swap squats for something easier on my knees”

  • Answers from your history

It looks up the sets you have logged, so questions about your lifts get answers from your numbers, not a generic chart.

“How has my bench press changed this month?”

  • Plans your next weights

It suggests your next weights from what you lifted last time, and tells you when a lift has stalled.

“What should I squat on Thursday?”

  • Works around an injury

Tell it what hurts and it adjusts the plan to avoid loading it. For severe or lasting pain it will tell you to see a medical professional.

“My lower back is sore, adjust this week”

  • Logs your food

Snap a meal or describe it, and Spot logs it against your calorie and macro targets. It can change those targets too.

“Two eggs on toast and a black coffee”

  • Briefs you every day

Ask for a daily briefing: today’s workout, your recovery, yesterday’s food, your weight trend and your streak.

    “Daily briefing”

  • Remembers you

Goals, preferences and injuries you mention are saved, so you don’t repeat yourself next time.

“I hate burpees, never give me them”

Choosing an AI coach

Five questions to ask any AI personal trainer

  1. 01

Can it see what you actually lifted?

A coach that only knows what you type into one chat will guess your weights. One connected to your training log can start from your real numbers.

  2. 02

Can it change your plan, or only talk about it?

Advice you have to copy into another app by hand rarely gets used. The useful coaches edit the workout you will actually open at the gym.

  3. 03

Where do its numbers come from?

Language models can state a weight or a personal best with confidence and be wrong. Ask where a number came from; a good coach points to your own sets.

  4. 04

    Does it remember your limits?

Equipment, injuries and moves you hate should carry over between conversations without you repeating them.

  5. 05

What does it do when something hurts?

It should change the plan around minor aches and tell you to see a professional for sharp, new or worsening pain, never coach through it.

Questions

Spot FAQ

What is Spot?
Spot is the AI personal trainer built into the GymStreak app. You ask in your own words, typed or as a voice message, and Spot answers from your logged workouts and food, and changes the workouts in your plan for you.
Is Spot free?
No. Spot is part of GymStreak Premium, an in-app subscription billed by Apple or Google. The app is free to download and shows your local price before you pay.
Can Spot change my workout plan?
Yes. Spot can create a workout, swap or remove exercises, change sets, reps and rest, and rename a workout, and the change appears in your plan in the app. It can also suggest another day for a session you missed.
Does Spot know my workout history?
Yes. Spot can look up the workouts and sets you have logged in GymStreak, so it answers questions about your progress, suggests your next weights and spots a plateau from your own data.
Is Spot better than asking ChatGPT for a workout plan?
A general chatbot can write a decent starting plan, but it only knows what you tell it in the chat and it cannot edit the workouts you log. Spot works inside GymStreak, so it starts from your logged training, your equipment and your injuries, and changes your plan directly.
Can Spot replace a personal trainer?
For planning, adjusting and tracking your training, Spot does much of what a trainer does, at any time of day. It cannot watch your form in person, so if you are new to a lift or recovering from an injury, a session with a qualified coach is still worth it.
Is Spot medical advice?
No. Spot gives general training and nutrition guidance. For sharp, new or worsening pain, an injury or a medical condition, see a doctor or physiotherapist.
What data does Spot use?
To answer, Spot uses what is in your GymStreak account, such as your plan, logged workouts, food logs and the goals you set, and the messages you send it. Our privacy policy explains how your data is handled.
