How to do Drag Curl

  1. 1

Stand up straight, holding a barbell in your arms with an underhand grip and your palms facing forward. This is your starting position.

  2. 2

Pull the barbell up in line with your body while getting your elbows behind our body.

  3. 3

Squeeze your biceps at the top before slowly returning to the starting position.

Form cues

  • Do not lift your shoulders as you lift the bar.
  • Slightly bend your arms at the bottom of the movement to keep tension in your biceps throughout. Prevent your arms from losing tension when you return to the starting position. You shouldn't let your arms 'hang' at the bottom.
  • Perform the reps slowly and in a controlled manner.
