GymStreak vs FitnessAI
Written by the GymStreak coaching teamUpdated
We make GymStreak. Every fact about FitnessAI comes from its own website, help centre or App Store listing, checked on and linked next to each fact. Features change, so check the apps themselves before you decide. We don’t list prices: they change and vary by country.
The short answer
FitnessAI and GymStreak both plan your training with AI. FitnessAI’s algorithm sets the sets, reps and weight for each exercise every time you train, in sessions of 5 to 30 minutes, and adds body composition tracking. GymStreak builds a weekly plan from your goal, days, session length, equipment and injuries, and adds Spot, an AI coach you chat to that answers from your logged workouts and edits your plan, plus food logging and weekly streaks. Both are free to download with paid subscriptions. Choose FitnessAI for short sessions with every number set for you; choose GymStreak to talk your plan through with a coach and track food in the same app.

03 / Key differences
The key differences
How the plan is made
FitnessAI’s algorithm builds a daily lifting and cardio plan and sets the sets, reps and weight for each exercise every time you train, from your logged history and your equipment. GymStreak’s AI builds a weekly plan from your goal, training days, session length, equipment and injuries, with progression built in.
Talking to the coach
FitnessAI’s site and listings describe an algorithm that sets your numbers; a chat coach isn’t listed. In GymStreak you can ask Spot to build a workout for the time and equipment you have, swap an exercise, suggest your next weights, flag a plateau or suggest changes to the week around a sore joint, and the changes you accept appear in your plan. Spot’s adjustments are suggestions, not a diagnosis: for sharp, new, persistent or worsening pain, see a doctor or physiotherapist.
Food and body tracking
GymStreak logs food by photo, typed or spoken description or search against calorie and macro targets (there’s no barcode scanner). Food tracking isn’t listed for FitnessAI; it focuses on strength charts and body composition tracking with a 3D body scan view.
Trying it first
Both are free to download with paid subscriptions. FitnessAI sells memberships weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly; what a free account includes isn’t listed. GymStreak’s free version shows your AI-built plan and the exercise library; starting and logging workouts, Spot and AI food logging need Premium.
Devices
Both run on iPhone, Apple Watch and Android and sync with Apple Health. GymStreak also syncs with Health Connect on Android and shows the rest timer as a Live Activity on iPhone; FitnessAI also has Live Activities for logging sets and rest.
