Instructions

  1. 1.Lie face down on the floor with your arms extended out in front you and your legs straight behind. This is your starting position.
  2. 2.Lift your arms, chest and legs off the ground, focusing on contracting your lower back muscles.
  3. 3.Slowly return to the starting position.
  4. 4.Repeat for as many repetitions as required.

Tips

  • Keep a neutral neck position throughout the exercise.
  • Feel the limits of your own range of motion as it will be different for different body types, don't over extend yourself as this could lead to spine injury.
  • Perform the reps slowly and in a controlled manner.

Breathing Instructions

Breathe in during the eccentric (lowering) portion of the exercise and breathe out during the cocentric (elevation) portion.
